Tribute to Bat Boy

Bat Boy cried “I am alone,”
But no one took his hand,
Not mom not dad not sister dear
Not preacher, farmer, Pan,
Not till the day when writers bold
Set out to sing his tale
Did audiences with mocking smiles
Dare to watch him fail
Enough of rhymes!
Cries out the hand, guided by the brain

Clichés have no place in histories of pain
Now you switch the pace of prose
No, it’s poetry!—

To see one fall so miserably
And from the torn set flee
Italicized in argument
I know I won’t give in
Bat Boy committed suicide
Would that I were him.
Wrote this in a frenzy of five minutes after listening to the musical "Bat Boy" for the first time. O.O Wonderful. I loved it so very very much. Everyone should listen to at LEAST the first song. I wish I'd seen it on stage!... *adopts a woefully sorrowful expression* alas, it shall not be so, as the musical is no longer running here... My heart breaks.

Anyway, I tend to write things without a real image of what they'll turn out as in the end, so this one took a definite turn for the interesting midway through. I'm hoping you guys will actually dissect this one. :)

Hm. . . Very interestingly done, E-chan. The rhyming scheme which kept changing made it a little harder to follow, but interesting all the same. Perhaps i would understand more if i actually knew the story...
